The annual Camarillo, Calif. airshow and celebration of all things aerial was this year even more patriotic than usual.

Despite stifling inland temperatures, the former Air Force base is near the ocean's on-going air conditioning so folks strolled about in refreshing temperatures and under a perfect, clear blue sky.
 
Among the veterans on hand who were honored were members of WW II's 325th Fighter Group, the "Checkertail Clan," celebrating their 67th annual reunion. When the Star Spangled Banner floated across the ramp, they were among the first to stand with pride and patriotism.
 
The action began mid-day with aerial demonstrations by John Collver, Rob "The Tumbling Bear" Harrison, Sammy Mason, Judy Phelps, Torry Ward and Ron Hackworth in the N9MB Flying Wing. They were followed by a phalanx of warbirds and trainers, including Clay Lacy in his bright orange Pilatus...
