Here are a few sunset photography tips:
Clean your lens and sensor often. Dust spots are more pronounced in bright sky with a high aperture.
Slightly underexpose your image to make the colors look more rich and defined.
As they say in the military, "Shoot with both eyes open." This can help you see other items around you that may enhance or wreck your photograph.
